Management Team

Our Senior Management Team is led by our Chief Executive who has overall executive responsibility for the management of the Business and reports to the chair of our non-executive Board of Directors.

The Chief Executive is supported by a team of five senior managers.  The team has been developed by the Business to ensure that we have the broad range of essential skills that enable us to effectively deliver the outcomes set out in our Business Plan.  The skills and experience our senior management team bring include the following:

Our senior management team is supported by five staff teams; Social Enterprise; Highland SDS, Training; Independent Living and Business Support.

Chief Executive - Jenny Liddell

Jenny took up the appointment of CEO with Cantraybridge College in December 2016.  Previously, she was a Learning and Development Manager working with NHS Highland and the Scottish Government for twelve years.   Jenny's career has spanned the private, public and third sector, with varied roles in marketing, PR and fundraising and working with 'at risk' young people. Jenny holds degrees in Leadership & Management and Communications and a PGCE in Tertiary and Higher Education.

Jenny's main ambitions for Cantraybridge are to develop the holistic educational experiences of the students and to raise awareness of this unique educational establishment throughout Scotland.

Business Manager - Ian Larg

Ian Larg joined Cantraybridge as Business Manager in summer 2012 and since then has added his significant knowledge and experience of business and accounting practices to help move forward our business development strategy.  Ian ran his own business for many years and is a Chartered Accountant by profession.  In his spare time, Ian enjoys playing the pipes.

Independent Living Manager - Hazel MacDonald

Hazel joined Cantraybridge in November 2015 having had an extensive career as a senior manager in Banking, latterly in the HR department. She brings with her a wealth of experience in managing and developing people and in service improvement. These skills have proved invaluable in improving Cantraybridge Housing Support Service and introducing a capability learning framework for the development of the support staff.

Self Directed Support Manager - Shirley Buchanan

Shirley joined Cantraybridge in 2015, managing Highland SDS Services; a project funded by the Scottish Government as part of its ten year plan to implement Self Directed Support.  She has worked across the private, public and third sector throughout her career and is passionate about the principles of SDS; Collaboration, dignity, informed choice, innovation, involvement, participation, responsibility and risk enablement.

Supporting young adults to reach their potential

About the College

Cantraybridge promotes the skills and talents of young people with disabilities. We champion the rights of young people by creating opportunities to learn and grow.


We support our students to develop skills equipping them for work. We empower our young people through a managed transition from college to enhance their employability.

Independent Living

We provide accommodation for 20 students attending College. Residents develop their independent living skills whilst they are here in preparation for living in a place of their own.

Cantraybridge Cafe and Venue Hire

Our Cafe and Venue Hire, Market Garden and the visitor facilities at our Aviary department. We are open from Monday to Friday 10.00 pm - 3.00 pm
