As with all changes in life, a settling in period is essential if we are going to succeed in making a positive transition. This is true of the transition process into and out of Cantraybridge. At the early stages, once someone has decided to give it a go, there is an initial induction period that allows young people the chance to establish a new routine, to get to know people and the working environment. In our experience, there will always be a settling in period and we like to try and give as much time and support as we can to enable each person to feel confident in a new environment. Once a young person has chosen a host department, the Enabler will work with the Transitions Worker and the Operations Manager to to ensure a smooth induction period. If a young person if residential then this will also include housing support staff as well.
