Information Technology (IT)

Cantraybridge became home to the Karten Suite in 2008 following on the good work of Sight Action, Inverness who helped to set up the centre.  Since then, we have invested a further £100,000 in its redevelopment thanks to the continued support from the Ian Karten Charitable Trust.

We now enjoy wireless internet access across the three-acre training site in Croy and in all the student residences.  We have integrated the use of portable devices into everyday training, support and learning activities, making best use of our ICT capability to maximise students’ potential.  Have a look in our gallery or on our Facebook page to see how we use this technology in everyday learning.

Between 2010 and 2012 we also established outreach centres in Wick, Thurso and Inverness including providing equipment and training local volunteers to help people with disabilities to access ICT.
